What is Driven DBR?

Driven DBR is a Break-In oil for newly rebuilt Diesel engines only! DBR is not to be used for more then the approximate 300 miles needed to achieve Break-In. It is a low detergent High ZDDP oil and should not be used for anything other then Break-In. 

Should You Use Diesel Oils for High Performance/racing engines with flat tappet cams?

We do not recommend this practice. About 20 years ago when the "Zinc" content in engine oils was lowered for passenger cars, the result was many failures of flat tappet cams. At that time, diesel engine oils did have a higher level of zinc and many found a solution to this problem with Diesel Engine Oil. However Diesel engine oil is very high in detergent which can interfere with the Zinc bonding to the surface it's trying to protect. After all detergent is supposed to keep the parts clean! Driven has the solution in product line to the "low zinc" problem with flat tappet cams. Our HR, GP-1 and performance synthetic oils are all formulated for gasoline engines with flat tappet cams. The formulation chemistry for Diesel engines...is for Diesel engines. 

How Often Should I Change My Diesel Oil?
