Driven BR will be changing to Driven BR50 in 2024! Same awesome formula and 15W-50 viscosity just a new name on the label. This was done to make the product easier to identify from our other Break-In oils such as BR30 & BR40.
Recommended by multiple cam manufacturers, this unique petroleum break-in oil provides optimum levels of Zinc and Phosphorus for flat tappet and aggressive roller valve trains, and the additive package promotes ring seal. Provides maximum protection available for cams and lifters during initial break-in. Does not require additional ZDDP additives. Good for full power pulls on the dyno, one night of racing or up to 400 miles on the street. Viscosity typical of 15W-50.
Driven BR is a Break-In oil and should only be used for engine Break-In. This engine oil will NOT MEET any current API or OEM Engine Oil Specifications as it is formulated specifically for engine Break-In only

Proper Break-In Procedure:
Driven’s Break-in oil is very high in ZDDP (typical 2800-3000 PPM ZDDP) but its also very low detergent. Detergent will counter the ability of the ZDDP to adhere and protect the needed part. This is because ZDDP and Detergent are both surface active - they compete for the same space. On a brand-new engine, you just want to have ZDDP to form anti-wear protection without the detergent cleaning it off per say.
Run the Break-In oil for the first 30 mins - Change the filter/oil and replace with Break-In oil to flush out wear metals and assembly lubricants - run approx. 400 miles on break in oil – Change the filter and replace the Break-In oil with your usual Driven Racing Oil.

So far the service has been outstanding i Ordered the product on Sunday and it was here by wednesday. I installed the oil today and we are going to try and fire the new motor this weekend. Flat Tappet motor so we are praying this gives us the extra protection for the break-in.
